Springcoil have teamed up with the Apprenticeship Team at The Sheffield College and have taken on our first Apprentice.
Lewis Gore, started on the 7th October as an Apprentice Springmaker and has successfully completed his second week impressing both Works Manager, Nigel Eastwood and Managing Director, Carl Martin.
Carl explained “Lewis joined us 2 weeks ago and we’ve been really impressed with the way he’s fit into the team and our working environment. We’ve given him an insight into each of the operations and he’s picked up some valuable skills. He even finished his first week coiling some springs”.
As part of his Apprenticeship, Lewis will be working towards an NVQ in Manufacturing. Stewart Parsisson from Job Connect, at The Sheffield College said “We have been working with Lewis to help him secure an Apprenticeship within the Manufacturing industry. When the role at Springcoil came up it was the perfect match for Lewis and his skills and attributes. Springcoil are a traditional British Manufacturer offering a skilled trade and a good start for a young person, like Lewis, to their career. I am delighted that Lewis has started his Apprenticeship and we look forward to enrolling him and supporting him through his apprenticeship with The Sheffield College.”
Springcoil are looking forward to seeing Lewis progress through his NVQ and learn all the skills needed to be an experienced Springmaker.
