Die Springs

Die springs, are so named due to their common use with Die sets in punching and pressing applications but are often referred to as Heavy Duty or High force compression springs.

Typically made of pre-tempered, rectangular shaped Chrome Silicon wire, they are designed for use where high loads are required and where ambient temperatures reach 475 degrees F.

Die Springs/High Force Compression Springs are available from stock in sizes ranging from 3/8″ OD (10mm) to 2″ OD (50 mm) and lengths from one inch to 12 inches (25 to 300 mm), and in four duty ranges of Light, Medium, Heavy and Extra Heavy.

However we can also produce units to your own specification working from either a brief, technical drawing or by reverse engineering your supplied sample using our ‘In house’ specialist testing equipment to provide the best advice on design, materials, processes and finishes.

The springs are stress relieved after coiling, pre-set and shot peened to provide maximum fatigue life. Both ends are precision ground and then powder coated with a solid colour to identify the duty range.
