Carl Martin

Managing Director

Joining in 1994, Carl progressed through the company acquiring a broad knowledge and experience of production and business management and added to his academic qualification with ‘Materials and Spring Design’ when completing a IWMA scholarship at the Institute of Spring Technology in Sheffield.

Having literally done ‘Every job in the Business’ Carl has for many years been an integral part of the growth and development of the company, so when the position became available, Carl was the natural choice as the new Springcoil Managing Director.

Continuing to oversee the design and production departments, Carl’s enthusiasm and hands on approach ensures that ‘Quality of Product and Customer service’ is at the heart of everything Springcoil design and manufacture.

Now also responsible for the day to day running and development of the business, his commitment to investment in equipment, technology and employees will continue the growth of the company and ensure its position as one of the UK’s premier spring manufacturers.

Ryan Wright

Technical Sales & Quality Manager

Joining in 2008, Ryan already had a good working knowledge of springs as his older brother, Carl Martin, had imparted much information over the years.

After gaining a good working appreciation of production and spring design, Ryan joined the sales team where his extensive production and design knowledge and reassuring personality resulted in much success in the role of ‘Key account manager’.

In 2015, Springcoil decided to attain an ‘ISO Quality Standard’ certification, Ryan was appointed ‘Quality Manger’ and tasked with the project.

He undertook a complete business review and following the implementation of ‘Management by Process and Procedures’ across the company Springcoil successfully achieved the ISO 9001-2015 International Quality Standard.

Ryan is a committed member of the Springcoil Management Team and consistently contributes to its growth.

Michael Burns

Works Manager

Michael has recently been promoted to Works Manager, after the retirement of Nigel Eastwood, who spent over 50 years in the spring industry!

They are big shoes to fill but we are more than confident Michael has what it takes, having started with us as a trainee at 16. 

Michael has risen through the ranks and now has over 25 years experience within our company, with a hands on approach to the manufacture of a wide variety of springs and shape work, using all kinds of spring manufacturing machinery and techniques along the way,

As a long standing member of staff Michael has been present during most of Springcoil’s growth as one of the UK’s premier spring manufacturers and his wealth of knowledge and expertise is a great asset to our business.

Responsible for production and day to day running of the shop floor along with our highly skilled production team, ensuring we fulfil customer orders within expected lead times and to the highest quality, using the best raw materials available for the products we supply,  and with a view to the on-going development of skills, machinery, equipment and tooling required for us to further improve where possible.

Lisa Mansell

Accounts & Admin

The smooth running and efficiency of our Sheffield office is overseen by Lisa.

Dealing with all aspects of our admin Lisa is responsible for both the Sales and Purchase ledgers and in addition provides general office assistance to the Management Team including some customer services calls and enquiries.

David Russell

Technical Sales & Design Assistant

Joining in October 2019, David is the newest member of the team.

Responsible for order processing and progression, David deals direct with customer orders and oversees our ‘off-shelf’ stock and other consignments.

In addition to his primary roles he is also on our ‘in–house’ training program where he is learning all aspects of spring processes and manufacturing alongside technical design and sales.
